I like the page, but it is factually lacking! I'm sure Joey Dee will attest to the much greater importance (than is depicted here) of members Carlton Lattimore and Larry Vernieri (see numerous encyclopedias of rock!), and furthermore, the relative unimportance of David Brigati in the Rascals (it was his brother's group!)...Also, not to nitpick, but aren't some of those pictures from the Joey Dee movie (i.e. with actor Randazzo et al. instead of the real Starliters!)? Oh yeah, one more thing: Joey Dee was not present at the Tony Sheridan sessions in Hamburg! Give credit where credit is due! Thanx!

Joey, saw you in Savannah, Ga at an oldies concert with Dennis Yost, Patrick Upton, and several others I can't recall right now.Loved seeing you. Love all the oldies and all of you who made them. I don't consider them "oldies", I consider them "my stroll down memory lane" where I had some on the most wonderful times of my life. Hearing those songs make me feel young again!

Whatever the case both tunes continue to have the ability to pack the floor. Good to see you're still doing your thing.

Just saw Joey and gang last night, here, in JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA. Joey, Judy, and the band put on two GREAT shows (as usual). Lois and Ronnie were not here. I really enjoyed both sets. Some of my favorites were: "What Kind Of Love Is This?" (my very favorite), the Dion "medley", the Doo-wop "medley", the instrumentals by the band, "Shout", and especially when Judy sang a Ronettes' song (WOW, she was great!) When you see Joey, ask him about his (and Judy's) "uplifting" experience!! I was able to give Joey a repro copy of his first record - "Lorraine" (see discography) and Joey, in turn, gave me a copy of his greatest hits from Roulette on CD. I understand that Joey will be returning to JAX this summer to appear on the Riverwalk ouside the new Hilton Hotel. We're all looking forward to this and I told Joey I'd bring the Vaseline promo record of "How To Do The Twist" (used in the movie "The History Of The Twist") for him to autograph. Thanks for such GREAT entertainment from the world's most famous twister!! AL ALBERT

Joey- 35 yrs. ago I was a very shy 14 yr. old who, at the urging of my older sister, interupted your lunch at Palisades Amusement Park to ask you to autugraph my copy of "Shout". I didn't have to ask you. You saw me standing back, called me over, and not only autographed the record, but then passed it around to Dave and other members of the Starliters to have them sign it as well. I may have been too elated to thank you then, so the internet gives me the chance to do it now, 35 yrs. later. Thanks Paul.

Wish I had a personal experience story to tell you, or some other fabulous trip down memory lane, but all I have to say is thank YOU and your contemporaries for providing the world with some of the best music ever! Even today, it's a welcome respite from the mindless noise of so-called "rock" (alternative, industrial, grunge, etc.)... I cringe to even call that stuff rock (not to mention the incessant rap/hip-hop/misogynistic lyrics I'm forced to endure at my place of employment). Just wanted to say thank you.

Joey- I was a regular at the Peppermint Lounge the summer of 1963 after working on Wall Street each day. At age 19 I thought I was pretty cool when I took my dates to see you guys twist the night away. One night I ran into a group of about twenty young ladies visiting from Houston (The Bluebonnet Belles, a dance troupe) and marched them all in to see you. You guys cooked appropriately and my gallantry was amply rewarded. Thanks for a great memory. John.

I bought your 45rpm of Peppermint Twist (parts one and two) when it came out. I've worn out the grooves on both sides. Last year I got Rhino's Hey Let's Twist-The Best Of..... It's the greatest. You made some mighty fine music in the early 60's. Having gone to many oldie concerts, including Chubby Checker and Bobby Rydell, if you had the talent then, you have the talent now. I'd love to see you live someday. Thanks for being part of the best time in rock'n'roll.

Joey, Hi, I got to your site from the Dovells site, as Jerry Gross is a good friend of mine here in Cherry Hill, NJ. I grew up in Bayonne NJ and remember a guy named Ronnie Jaslowski, who played at the Peppermint lounge. A very goo guitarist, he also intrduced us to the Young Rascals, who we were told were performers in the Lounge. Do you remember him? Take care Tom Millan The Pacific Grille

Joey, I still have an autographed card you signed for my sister back in the early 60's when you were appearing at the castaway lounge in Geneva on the lake in Ohio. Saw your show with l. Chance, J.Seigal,J.Beaumont at Ruth Echard Hall -best show I've seen in over 25 years. How can people help out with the National Foundation? Is there still going to be a place someday for the 50's and 60's to stay? Best to you Uncle Floyd

Hey, Joe. It's the two "[bleep] Volunteers". Since we were too cheap to go out and spring for a birthday card we decided the least we could do is go to your guestbook and tell the world that today, June 11, 1998 is your *(u43jij birthday. Hey how come the numbers wouldn't type out? Is the guestbook on a security lock which destroys all mention of your actual age? A very happy birthday to you and many more to come. Darlene and I have a very special place in our hearts for you and Lois and all the clan. Enjoyed the show at Doc's 55th. Youse guys still got it. We love you and look forward to our next get together. Darlene and Dave.

I graduated from high with Larry Vernieri. Does anyone have any idea as to we might locate him. Also, a local DJ here in western Maryland said that Joe Pesci was once a member of the later groups, any truth to that?

Hello all and Joey...keep up the good work helping old rock and rollers and a few Shout and Peppermint Twist flashbacks. I had to have knee surgury after I won Twist contest dancing to the Peppermint Twist...no problem I will never forget the experience...and your song your version of Shout and all others was BANNED from my high school(Terra Nova Class of64) because of the frenzy the song gave the dancers at a Saturday Hop. All us kids went wild dancing to the song and we started the first bangers dancing...banging into one another while dancing to shout....you know you make me wanna Rock on and keep on twistin...Duke of the Discs Fresno, Cal.

I've got most of your earlier songs on vinyl and I just purchased my first CD (the "Hey, Let's Twist" album from Rhino records). Also recently scored a picture sleeve 45- rpm version of "What Kind of Love Is This". You're among the all-time greats of the era and I feel as though I can almost re-live that era when I listen to your music while at the wheel of my 1962 Olds Starfire! Hope someday you'll be appearing in the San Francisco area. Thanks for all the happy hours of musical listening you've provided me.
